This session of the webinar quickly introduces repositioning of local legal agent. From historically, foreign device manufactures were required to appoint a Chinese legal entity as their local legal agent in order to fulfill statutory obligations, and under order 739, foreign device registrants will still need to appoint a Chinese legal entity to submit regulatory applications and correspond with regulatory authorities. Compared to Order 680, it does not differentiate the liability of local legal agents from the foreign device registrants, it makes clear that local appointees will assume less liability compared to the foreign device registrants.
